Detailed Product Overview

The Z3210 Bluetooth Adapter adds a Bluetooth interface to compatible HIOKI instruments for data transfer to external devices. It is a Bluetooth Low Energy device that enables wireless communication with a maximum line of sight distance of approximately 10 m, depending on the environment and surrounding conditions. 

Two operating modes are available: GENNECT Cross mode and HID mode. The operating mode is selected on the connected instrument and is described in the respective instrument manual. GENNECT Cross mode and HID mode cannot be used simultaneously. The selected operating mode is stored in the Z3210. 

GENNECT Cross Mode

GENNECT Cross mode is intended for communication with the GENNECT Cross app. 

In this mode, measured values are transmitted to a smartphone or tablet for display and storage. Data stored in the instrument memory can be read out via GENNECT Cross. Depending on the connected instrument, settings such as comparator thresholds or profile information can also be transferred from the app to the instrument. 

Measurement data can be documented within the app and exported as reports, including PDF format. Data can also be transferred to other applications depending on the mobile operating system. GENNECT Cross does not require a subscription. The GENNECT Cross app is available free of charge for iOS 13 or later and Android 9 or later. 

HID Mode

In HID mode, the adapter operates according to the Human Interface Device profile. 

This profile is the same profile used by wireless keyboards or barcode scanners. The connected instrument behaves like an input device to the host system. Measured values are transmitted as keyboard input to the active application. 

This allows direct entry of measurement values into spreadsheet, text or other input based applications without dedicated software. 

HID mode is supported on Windows, iOS and Android devices.
