The HIOKI L9846 Earth Nets Module is an accessory for earth measurements on hard surfaces such as concrete where auxiliary grounding rods cannot be inserted directly. The foldable module with magnetic latch has two contact areas made of copper mesh, each measuring 18 × 22 cm, which are placed on the surface after opening. Moistening them with water establishes electrical contact with the surface. The earth nets module is integrated into the measurement setup via a connection for crocodile clips.
The L9846 is designed for mounting on test lead reels L9845-52, L9845-33, L9845-31, L9842-22 and L9842-11. The earth nets module simply clicks onto the test lead reel and then forms a single unit with it. On the side of the module used for attachment to the test lead reel, there is a funnel for filling in water, while the opposite side has corresponding outlet slots.
Compared to the more compact 9050 Earth Nets, the L9846 is the less sensitive version with more convenient handling. The C0209 Tote Bag is suitable for storage and transport of test lead reels with mounted earth nets modules. Two L9846 Earth Nets Modules as well as the C0209 Tote Bag are already included with the FT6041 and FT6041-91 Earth Testers.
The earth nets modules are designed for use with HIOKI Earth Testers such as FT6041 and FT6041-91. Use with other earth testers or installation testers that operate with grounding rods is outside the intended system combination. HIOKI does not provide any functional guarantee for such use.
