Detailed Product Overview
The HIOKI MR8875 is a portable, modular Memory Recorder designed for high-speed waveform recording and long-term data logging in demanding field and laboratory environments. Its rugged construction withstands harsh measurement conditions, while the 8.4-inch touchscreen can be operated even while wearing work gloves, making it ideal for maintenance, commissioning and mobile troubleshooting. With a maximum sampling rate of 500 kS/s, 16-bit resolution and simultaneous multi-channel acquisition, the MR8875 captures both fast transient events and long-duration measurements with high accuracy. Flexible power supply options, including AC power, external DC input and battery operation, allow reliable measurements wherever they are required.
Flexible Input Configuration for Mixed Signal Measurements
The MR8875 features four slots that can be configured for different measurement tasks. Depending on the installed modules, the recorder supports up to 16 isolated analogue channels for high-speed measurements or up to 60 multiplexed channels for large-scale temperature acquisition. In addition, the MR8875 provides 8 logic channels for detecting AC/DC relay drive signals and recording High/Low states, as well as 2 pulse channels for integration (pulse counting) and rotational speed measurement.
The available modules allow simultaneous acquisition of multiple signal types within a single recorder:
- MR8901 Analog Module for isolated voltage measurements and current measurements with external current sensors.
- MR8902 Voltage/Temperature Module with 15 multiplexed channels for voltage and thermocouple measurements.
- MR8903 Strain Module for strain gauge and low-level sensor measurements.
- MR8904 CAN Module for synchronised CAN bus acquisition. Combined with the HIOKI SP7001 Non-Contact CAN Sensor, CAN communication can be monitored without electrically contacting or modifying the vehicle wiring harness.
- MR8905 Analog Module for high-voltage measurements up to 1000 V DC or 700 V AC, including direct waveform acquisition and RMS measurement, allowing users to record both instantaneous waveforms and RMS values simultaneously for power supply monitoring, inverter testing and electrical maintenance.
This modular concept enables mixed signal measurements such as voltage, current, temperature, strain, pulse and CAN data to be captured synchronously in one portable instrument.
Long-Term Recording with Real-Time Saving
The MR8875 combines high-speed waveform capture with continuous long-term recording. Measurement data can be acquired with up to 500 kS/s sampling rate and written directly to an SD memory card in real time, eliminating the recording duration limitations of internal memory. This enables continuous acquisition of transient events and slowly changing signals without interruption. Depending on the number of active channels and the sampling interval, recording durations range from hours to months.
Integrated Trigger and Analysis Functions
To capture only relevant events, the MR8875 offers comprehensive trigger capabilities including level, window, logic, pulse, interval, external and manual triggers, as well as pre-trigger and post-trigger recording. These functions simplify troubleshooting by automatically recording abnormal operating conditions while reducing unnecessary data. Integrated analysis functions eliminate the need for post-processing in many applications. The recorder supports FFT analysis, waveform calculations and numerical calculations, including RMS, peak, maximum, minimum, average, frequency, pulse width, integration, differentiation, digital filtering, arithmetic operations and user-defined calculation formulas. Calculations can be performed in real time during measurement or applied afterwards to recorded data, enabling immediate evaluation directly on the instrument.
Built for demanding test and maintenance applications
With its modular input architecture, 500 kS/s sampling rate, 16-bit resolution, real-time recording and integrated analysis functions, the MR8875 is a versatile solution for complex measurement tasks. It is equally suited for vehicle and EV development, power electronics testing, and industrial maintenance, where voltage, current, temperature, strain and CAN signals must be acquired simultaneously over short transient events or long-term endurance tests.
