Product information L9300 - Test Leads with Integrated Safety Caps


Test leads with angled 4 mm safety banana plugs for digital multimeters, clamp meters and comparable measuring instruments. Rated for current measurements up to 10 A and with a length of 95 cm, these leads feature integrated safety caps and protective finger guards.

For measurements in higher measurement categories according to IEC 61010, the accessible conductive length of the probe tip must be limited. Safety caps are therefore required for CAT III and CAT IV applications. In many test leads, these caps are separate plastic covers. In daily field work, such small parts can easily get misplaced or lost. 

To address this issue, the safety caps are permanently integrated into the probe tip. In the rear position, a longer and more slender conductive tip is available for work on narrow terminals or PCB test points. For CAT III 1000 V and CAT IV 600 V environments, the cap is moved forward to reduce the exposed contact length. The mechanism locks in each position. 

The L9300 test leads are compatible with the HIOKI accessories L4934 and L4933. The L4934 enables temporary hands-free connection to conductors and terminals up to 4 mm in diameter, while the L4933 provides partially insulated, extra-thin contact pins for measurements at closely spaced test points. 

These test leads are supplied as standard accessories with many HIOKI digital multimeters and clamp meters. They are also available separately as a multimeter accessory and as a replacement part.
