The HIOKI IR4018-20 is a rugged analog insulation tester designed for reliable insulation resistance testing in electrical installations and equipment. With a 1000 V DC test voltage and a measurement range up to 2000 MΩ, it is particularly well suited for applications with higher insulation requirements.

The easy-to-read illuminated analog meter enables quick and confident evaluation of insulation measurements, even in low-light environments. For added safety, the integrated live circuit indicator reliably warns when hazardous voltage is present. After testing, the automatic discharge function ensures safe discharge of the device under test.

Built for demanding everyday use, the IR4018-20 is drop-proof (1 m onto concrete) and meets the requirements of CAT III 600 V. Its IP40 protection rating (excluding terminals) makes it well suited for typical maintenance work. In addition, the instrument features AC voltage measurement up to 600 V and a practical housing design that allows test leads to be stored quickly without disconnecting them.

A wide range of optional accessories is available for the IR4018-20, including test pins, alligator clips, and additional connection adapters. Especially useful are the remote switch test lead (L9788-10) or the complete set including an additional black lead (L9788-11).

L9788-10 - Test lead with release button red

The L9788-10 is a 1.2 m red test lead with integrated remote switch and LED illumination for selected HIOKI insulation testers. Measurements can be started directly from the probe without returning to the instrument. The LED illumination is switched on and off together with the instrument’s display backlight and supports work in poorly lit distribution boards and technical rooms. With the tip cover attached, the measurement category is CAT III 600 V. Without the tip cover, it is CAT II 600 V. The test lead is compatible with digital insulation testers IR4053, IR4056, IR4057-50, IR4057-90 and IR4059 as well as with the analog models 3490, IR4016, IR4017 and IR4018. It is also suitable for use with the HIOKI FT4310 Bypass Diode Tester. The L9788-10 is included with the IR4059. For the other models, it is available separately as an accessory.

The L9788-11 is a test lead set for HIOKI insulation testers. It includes the red L9788-10 lead with integrated remote switch and LED illumination as well as a black 1.2 m test lead with 4 mm connectors. The L9788-10 allows measurements to be started directly from the probe. This allows both hands to remain on the installation for secure positioning of the test leads at the test object. The LED illumination is switched on and off together with the insulation tester’s display backlight and supports work in poorly lit distribution boards and technical rooms.The black test lead features one straight and one right-angle 4 mm connector. It is supplied with a detachable black probe tip and a detachable black alligator clip for flexible connection to different test objects. With the tip covers attached, the measurement category is CAT III 600 V. Without the tip covers, it is CAT II 600 V. The L9788-11 is compatible with HIOKI digital insulation testers IR4053, IR4056, IR4057-50, IR4057-90 and IR4059, as well as with analog insulation testers 3490, IR4016, IR4017 and IR4018 and the FT4310 Bypass Diode Tester.
