WATT a X-Mas – raffle for universities and research institutes

Terms and conditions 


  1. Organizer
    The raffle is organized by HIOKI EUROPE GmbH, Helfmann-Park 2, 65760 Eschborn, Germany. Email: win (at) hioki.eu. 

  2. Application Period
    Applications are accepted from October 24, 2025 until December 19, 2025 (date of receipt of the application form applies). 

  3. Winner Selection and Notification
    The winner will be selected by an internal judging panel consisting of HIOKI EUROPE GmbH employees based on the submitted information. The winner will be notified via the registered email by December 23, 2025. If the winner does not respond within 30 days, the organizer reserves the right to select an alternate winner. 

  4. Eligibility
    Eligibility is limited to universities and research institutions located in the EU, clearly represented by the applicant acting with the authorization of their institution. Eligibility verification is at the discretion of HIOKI EUROPE GmbH. Employees of the organizer and employees of the HIOKI distribution partners and both their immediate family members are excluded from participation. 

  5. Reporting Obligation and Publication Rights
    By participating, applicants agree that, in the event of winning, they will prepare an application report on the use of the PW6001-16 Power Analyzer and CT6843-05 Current Sensors, including photos of the application and the name and affiliation of their institution.

    Participants shall ensure that all identifiable persons appearing in the submitted photos have given their explicit consent to the taking and publication of the images for the purposes described above.

    HIOKI EUROPE GmbH shall receive the full and unrestricted right to publish, reproduce, and use the submitted material (text and images) for communication, marketing, and PR purposes in print and online media. 

  6. Prize of the raffle
    Among all eligible entries, the following will be raffled: a power analysis set including one HIOKI PW6001-16 Power Analyzer and four HIOKI CT6843-05 Current Sensors. All instruments are used measuring devices from the demo inventory of HIOKI EUROPE GmbH. The recipient acknowledges that the instruments are to be used exclusively for research and educational purposes and must not be sold, rented, loaned or otherwise used commercially. 

  7. Liability
    The prize consists of used devices that may show signs of wear and are not currently calibrated. The organizer assumes no liability for technical malfunctions, transmission errors, limitations in the usability of the instruments, or other damages or consequential damages arising in connection with participation or use, unless caused by intent or gross negligence on the part of the organizer. 

  8. Prize Delivery
    The prize will be shipped by the organizer after confirmation of the shipping address and a confirmed delivery date. 

  9. Data Protection
    The legal basis for processing the personal data collected in the participation form is consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) and/or the performance of a contract (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). Personal data collected in connection with the prize draw will be used exclusively for conducting and handling the prize draw and will not be disclosed to third parties unless there is a legal obligation to do so. The only exception is the shipping service provider in the event of prize delivery. The organizer’s privacy policy applies.

    Participants who do not win may be contacted by the organizer after the prize draw has been completed, within the applicable retention period, to be informed about the outcome of the draw.

    An invitation to subscribe to the newsletter or to participate in future promotions will only be sent if participants have expressly given their consent to this. 

  10. Data Retention Data of participants without a prize:
    The personal data of participants who did not win, collected as part of the prize draw, will be stored for six months after the end of the prize draw and the dispatch of the prizes. This retention period serves to allow the verification of any potential claims by participants (e.g., the right of access under Art. 15 GDPR). After this period, the data will be deleted.

    Data of winners: The data of the winners will be deleted no later than after the expiration of the longest applicable statutory retention period, which is a maximum of ten years for records required under tax and commercial law.

    If you have consented to receive marketing communications, we will store your personal data for two years or until you withdraw your consent. 

  11. Amendments and Termination
    The organizer reserves the right to terminate the prize draw prematurely or amend the terms and conditions for important reasons, in particular in the event of technical malfunctions, manipulation attempts, or other unforeseen circumstances that impair the proper conduct of the prize draw. The decision of the organizer is final. Legal recourse is excluded.
