Product information DT4900-01 - USB Communication Package for HIOKI Digital Multimeters
Measured values can be transmitted to a Windows PC using the dedicated application
software. The instrument can also be remotely controlled via the PC.
In addition, communication via a virtual COM port with documented ASCII commands allows
integration into custom measurement setups or PC-based data acquisition applications.
The DT4900-01 is compatible with the following instruments: DT4282, DT4281, DT4261,
DT4256, DT4255, DT4253 and DT4252.
The latest USB driver, Windows PC software and the communication command
documentation are available for download from the HIOKI website.

Detailed Product OverviewThe HIOKI DT4253 is a True RMS digital multimeter specifically designed for process measurement as well as service and maintenance applications. It is ideally suited for use in control and regulation circuits, HVAC systems, and gas and oil burner systems. A key distinguishing feature of the DT4253 is its high-resolution DC µA measurement range up to 60 µA, which is specifically designed for flame current and ionization measurements in gas and oil burner systems. This allows reliable verification of burner operation as well as associated safety and monitoring circuits. Building on this, the DT4253 supports 4–20 mA process measurement with direct percentage display. Transmitter and control signals are displayed immediately as a percentage value (0–100%), eliminating the need for manual calculation. The dual display allows simultaneous indication of the measured value and the percentage value, significantly simplifying the evaluation of process signals. For extended applications, the DT4253 can be used in combination with external AC clamp-on probes. This enables non-contact AC current measurement without interrupting the circuit.
