Detaillierte Produktübersicht
The HIOKI DT4282 is a battery powered high accuracy digital multimeter with 0.025% basic DC accuracy and a 60000 count display for verification, failure analysis and service tasks on prototypes, assemblies and electronic devices. The high accuracy enables precise detection of small voltage and current deviations. With direct AC/DC current measurement from 600 μA to 10 A and conductance measurement, the instrument supports precise electrical measurements directly on the device under test when moving the test object to a bench setup would be impractical.
Voltage, Current and Measurement Functions
The instrument measures DC, AC and AC+DC voltage up to 1000 V. In AC+DC mode, the combined value can be displayed together with the AC and DC components. For direct AC/DC current measurement, it provides the ranges 600 μA, 6 mA, 60 mA, 600 mA, 6 A and 10 A, allowing low currents and higher load currents to be measured directly on the instrument. Terminal shutters linked to the rotary switch block unused input terminals and help prevent incorrect test lead insertion when switching between voltage and current measurement.
Additional measurement functions include resistance, continuity, capacitance and temperature measurement with a K thermocouple such as the optional DT4910. A diode test function supports forward voltage threshold settings from 0.15 V to 3.0 V in seven stages, allowing adaptation to different diode types and forward voltage characteristics. Conductance measurement complements resistance measurement when evaluating high resistance paths. During AC voltage and AC current measurement, frequency is displayed simultaneously as a secondary reading. The instrument meets CAT III 1000 V and CAT IV 600 V safety ratings.
For Development, Verification and Service
For PC based applications, the DT4282 supports communication via the optional DT4900-01 Communication Package. With the DMM Communicator software, measurement data can be transferred to a computer, displayed as graphs, saved as CSV files and inserted into Excel. Instrument settings can also be configured from the PC. This is useful for verification, failure analysis and service tasks where measured values need to be documented or compared over time.
The DT4282 covers AC voltage measurements from 20 Hz to 100 kHz. In addition, the analog low pass filter with a 630 Hz cut off suppresses higher frequency components so that the fundamental waveform can be evaluated more clearly. This is relevant when measuring inverter outputs or other signals with superimposed harmonic content.
Additional Features
For verification and troubleshooting, the DT4282 provides MAX/MIN and peak value measurement as well as HOLD and AUTO HOLD functions. The relative display function shows subsequent readings relative to a reference value. Zero adjustment compensates offsets before measurement, for example when low resistance values are evaluated. Excessively high input is indicated by the red screen backlight.
Measured values can be stored in the internal memory with up to 400 data points and transferred to a PC with the optional DT4900-01 Communication Package. For process related measurements, 4 to 20 mA and 0 to 20 mA signals can also be displayed as percentage values.
For everyday use in service and assembly testing
The DT4282 is designed for daily use in service, verification and troubleshooting, with an operating temperature range from -15 °C to 55 °C, drop resistance from a height of 1 m and a continuous operating time of approximately 100 hours with four AA alkaline batteries. The rear kickstand supports setup directly at the measurement location, while the test leads can be stored on the back of the instrument when the device is moved between different test objects. The supplied L9300 test lead uses a movable finger guard instead of separate protective caps, allowing the exposed metal tip length to be adapted to the relevant measurement category without loose parts that can be lost during daily work.
The L9300 test leads are compatible with the HIOKI accessories L4934 and L4933. The L4934 enables temporary hands free connection to conductors and terminals up to 4 mm in diameter, while the L4933 provides partially insulated, extra thin contact pins for measurements at closely spaced test points. Like all HIOKI digital multimeters, the DT4282 is developed in Japan and manufactured at HIOKI’s own production facilities in Japan
