Detaillierte Produktübersicht
The HIOKI DT4253 is a battery powered digital multimeter for 4 to 20 mA signal measurement, temperature measurement with thermocouples and low DC current applications. It is intended for control circuits, instrumentation signals and service tasks that require direct DC current measurement in the μA to mA range. With compatible multi range current sensors, it also supports AC current measurements up to 1000 A. With CAT III 1000 V and CAT IV 600 V safety ratings, the instrument measures AC/DC voltage up to 1000 V. Further measurement functions include resistance, capacitance, frequency and continuity measurement, as well as diode test. During AC voltage measurement, frequency can be displayed as a secondary reading.
Low Current, 4 to 20 mA and Thermocouples
For direct DC current measurement, the DT4253 provides 4 ranges from 60 μA to 60 mA. This supports measurements on control circuits and other applications where small DC currents need to be checked directly with the instrument. In addition, the instrument provides a 4 to 20 mA percentage display, allowing instrumentation signals to be shown not only as a measured current value but also as a percentage of the 4 to 20 mA range. The DT4253 also supports temperature measurement with K type thermocouples such as the optional DT4910. The thermocouple is connected directly to the instrument via the V and COM terminals. This allows temperature values from -40 °C to 400 °C to be checked with the same portable instrument. The MIN, MAX and AVG function also allows temperature trends to be reviewed and minimum, maximum and average values to be displayed.
Additional Features and External Current Sensors
Additional functions include HOLD and AUTO HOLD, and a low pass filter. HOLD and AUTO HOLD help retain measured values directly at the measurement point. The low pass filter can be switched between OFF, 100 Hz and 500 Hz to suppress high frequency components when evaluating the fundamental of AC voltage signals, for example at inverter outputs. The wide viewing angle display with backlight supports work in dimly lit environments, and the rear stand helps position the instrument at the measurement location. With the holster attached, the instrument is specified to withstand drops from a height of 1 m onto concrete. For AC current measurement, the DT4253 supports compatible HIOKI multi range current sensors. With the 9010-50, 9018-50 and 9132-50, the instrument covers AC current measurements from 10 A up to 1000 A via the 9704 Conversion Adapter. Up to 500 A, the 9010-50 covers frequencies up to 1 kHz, while the 9018-50 extends the frequency range up to 3 kHz and provides higher amplitude and phase accuracy. When the selected range on the instrument matches the selected range on the connected sensor, the measured value is displayed directly as a current value on the instrument.
Test Leads and Optional Accessories
The DT4253 is supplied with the L9300 test leads, which are rated for current measurements up to 10 A. Their integrated safety cap with sliding finger guard allows the exposed metal tip length to be adapted to the measurement task and the applicable measurement category without using separate caps. The optional L4933 Contact Pin Set can be attached to the tip of the L9300 and is useful for narrow or recessed contact points, while the optional L4934 Small Alligator Clip Set provides stable contact on conductors. For PC based applications, the DT4253 supports communication via the optional DT4900-01 Communication Package. The optically isolated interface allows measured values to be transferred to a PC for recording, visualization and documentation. Like all HIOKI digital multimeters, the DT4253 has been developed in Japan and is manufactured exclusively in HIOKI’s own production facilities in Japan.
