The 9018-50 is an AC multi-range current clamp with a voltage output of 0.2 V AC full scale across 6 selectable ranges from 10 A to 500 A AC. Sensitivity changes according to the selected range. The clamp operates without an external power supply and is rated for CAT III 600 V environments.

Compared to the 9010-50, the 9018-50 features an extended frequency bandwidth of 3 kHz. It offers improved amplitude accuracy and reduced frequency-dependent deviation across its operating range. Enhanced phase characteristics support more accurate measurement of non-sinusoidal and distorted current waveforms within this bandwidth. The clamp is rated for measurement environments up to CAT III 600 V.

A fixed 3 m cable with BNC connector provides the output signal. The clamp can be integrated into digital multimeters, data acquisition systems or recording instruments with suitable AC voltage inputs.

For HIOKI multimeters featuring clamp input functionality, the optional 9704 BNC adapter enables direct connection. The corresponding clamp range can be selected in the instrument setup, allowing current values to be indicated directly in amperes. When connected to other equipment, the selected voltage range should match the 0.2 V AC full scale output and the input impedance should remain sufficiently high to preserve measurement characteristics.

Key Specifications10 A AC/DC direct input Clamp sensor supportLoZ voltage modeCAT III 1000 V, CAT IV 600 V, 2000 V DC CAT III with optional P2010Bluetooth communication via included Z3210 adapter Typical ApplicationsTroubleshooting in control cabinets and power distribution systems Verification of supply voltages in industrial installations Measurement on inverter driven systems and motor drives DC voltage measurement in PV strings with optional P2010 AC and DC current measurement with direct input or clamp sensors  Detailed Product OverviewThe DT4261-90 combines the DT4261 Industrial Digital Multimeter with the Z3210 wireless adapter in one standard package, so Bluetooth capability is included. The bundle is intended for service work, maintenance and commissioning in electrical installations and industrial systems. The multimeter allows direct current measurement up to 10 A and also supports compatible clamp sensors. When used together with the optional P2010 high voltage divider, DC voltage measurement up to CAT III 2000 V is possible.True RMS voltage measurement is available for AC, DC and AC plus DC up to 1000 V. The function set includes resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode test and continuity. For troubleshooting, the instrument offers MIN, MAX and AVG recording, peak measurement, relative measurements and data hold. A 6000 count display and safety ratings up to CAT III 1000 V and CAT IV 600 V complete the specification. LoZ Voltage Mode In addition to the standard voltage function with high input impedance, the multimeter provides a LoZ mode with reduced input impedance. With high input impedance measurement, small voltages that are only capacitively coupled can sometimes be displayed, for example in installations with long conductors that are not connected at the far end or with parallel cable routing. In LoZ mode, the instrument applies a defined load to the measurement point. Very weak or capacitively coupled voltages are more likely to drop under load, while voltages backed by sufficient source capability remain stable. This helps distinguish ghost voltages from real supply voltages during installation checks. Current Measurement For direct current measurement, the DT4261-90 provides a 10 A AC/DC input. When switching from clamp based measurement to the direct current input, the instrument automatically performs a fuse check and confirms continuity before measurement. With compatible HIOKI multi range current clamps, the multimeter supports AC current measurements from 10 A up to 1000 A. The 9010-50 covers 10 A to 500 A with bandwidth up to 1 kHz. The 9132-50 extends the range to 20 A to 1000 A with bandwidth up to 1 kHz. The 9018-50 covers 10 A to 500 A and extends bandwidth up to 3 kHz, with improved amplitude and phase accuracy compared with the 9010-50. All three clamps provide a voltage output proportional to the measured current and connect via the 9704 BNC adapter. When one of the multi range clamps is used, the measurement range is selected manually on the instrument to match the clamp setting. Wireless and PC Communication Since the Z3210 wireless adapter is included in the DT4261-90, Bluetooth communication is available without additional accessories. Readings can be sent to the free GENNECT Cross app for Android and iOS for documentation, evaluation and harmonic analysis of voltage signals, for example in power distribution systems or photovoltaic inverter applications. The Z3210 also supports HID operation, enabling measured values to be entered directly into Excel templates or other software. In HID mode, the adapter is detected by the operating system as a Bluetooth keyboard, which is practical on Windows PCs with Bluetooth support. For wired PC applications, the optional DT4900-01 USB Communication Pack provides an optically isolated interface for USB connection to a Windows PC for data transfer and remote control. Bluetooth communication via Z3210 and PC communication via DT4900-01 cannot be used simultaneously. Operational Safety and Robust DesignTo reduce the risk of incorrect lead placement, the instrument uses terminal shutters linked to the rotary switch. Depending on the selected function, terminals that are not required are mechanically blocked. Excessive input conditions are indicated by a red backlight. The instrument operates within an ambient temperature range of minus 25 degrees Celsius to 65 degrees Celsius and withstands drops onto concrete from a height of 1 m under specified test conditions. Automatic AC/DC voltage detection and a clear HOLD indication support measurement tasks in industrial environments. The DT4261 is supplied with the L9300 test leads, rated for current measurements up to 10 A. The L9300 test leads feature integrated safety caps. The measurement category is adjusted by sliding the cap to change the exposed contact length. The permanent connection between cap and probe tip prevents removal or loss. The instrument is powered by three LR6 AA alkaline batteries and provides an operating time of up to 130 hours. When used with the Z3210 wireless adapter, operating time is typically up to 70 hours. Developed and manufactured in Japan, the DT4261-90 package reflects HIOKI’s long standing commitment to precision, reliability and controlled production quality.

It is ideally suited for use in control and regulation circuits, HVAC systems, and gas and oil burner systems. A key distinguishing feature of the DT4253 is its high-resolution DC µA measurement range up to 60 µA, which is specifically designed for flame current and ionization measurements in gas and oil burner systems. This allows reliable verification of burner operation as well as associated safety and monitoring circuits. Building on this, the DT4253 supports 4–20 mA process measurement with direct percentage display. Transmitter and control signals are displayed immediately as a percentage value (0–100%), eliminating the need for manual calculation. The dual display allows simultaneous indication of the measured value and the percentage value, significantly simplifying the evaluation of process signals. For extended applications, the DT4253 can be used in combination with external AC clamp-on probes. This enables non-contact AC current measurement without interrupting the circuit. The functional range is further expanded by temperature measurement using a K-type thermocouple as well as automatic AC/DC voltage detection, which simplifies measurements in mixed environments and reduces operating errors. Thanks to its robust design, fast response time, and safety rating CAT III 1000 V / CAT IV 600 V, the DT4253 is a reliable tool for professional use in industrial and building technology environments. The DT4253 is the ideal choice for precise measurement of flame currents, process signals, and small DC currents in daily service and maintenance work.
