Detailed Product Overview

The HIOKI CM4141-90 AC Clamp Multimeter combines the CM4141-50 with the Z3210 Bluetooth Adapter in a single set. It is intended for AC current measurements in utility and power distribution systems where measured values need to be captured on site and documented digitally. Three dedicated AC current ranges of 60 A, 600 A and 2000 A cover measurements on feeders, transformers and large AC loads, while the narrow jaw design supports access in switchgear and distribution panels with limited space.

AC current measurement in utility and distribution systems

With a jaw opening for conductors up to 55 mm and a minimum jaw cross section of 11 mm, the CM4141-90 supports measurements on larger conductors while still fitting between closely routed cables. This is relevant in utility cabinets, transformer connections and power distribution equipment where conductor size and installation space have to be considered together.

The instrument measures AC current in three ranges from 60 A to 2000 A and also provides voltage measurement up to 1000 V AC/DC. The safety rating of CAT IV 600 V / CAT III 1000 V supports measurements at the installation source and in downstream distribution systems.

Multimeter functions for electrical maintenance

Beyond clamp based AC current measurement, the CM4141-90 also covers standard electrical test tasks with voltage, resistance, continuity, diode, frequency, temperature and inrush current measurement. Temperature measurement uses a K thermocouple such as the optional DT4910 Thermocouple (K). Automatic AC/DC detection, Max/Min/Avg, PEAK values, filter function and manual or auto hold support troubleshooting and inspection work in the field.

This combination allows one instrument to cover both high current measurements and general multimeter tasks during service and maintenance, reducing instrument changes during routine work.

Bluetooth communication

Because the Z3210 Bluetooth Adapter is included, Bluetooth communication is available without additional accessories. Measurement values can be transferred to a smartphone or tablet for logging, documentation and report creation with the free GENNECT Cross app for iOS and Android. The app also supports harmonic analysis from the 1st to the 30th order.

The included adapter also supports HID functionality. This allows measured values to be transferred into Excel or other applications when a direct data entry workflow is required.

HIOKI clamp meters and clamp multimeters are developed and manufactured in Japan. At the company’s site in Nagano Prefecture, development, mechanics, electronics and current sensing technology are combined within one organization.
